Frequently asked questions about accommodation:

What kind of accommodation do you offer your students?

Students at all Twin English Centres can have accommodation with a local homestay. You can choose to have bed and breakfast or half-board (bed, breakfast and an evening meal.) With some homestays, you can also have full-board (packed lunch.) Most students have single-rooms, but if you are travelling with a friend, we can arrange a twin-room for you.

For students at Twin English Centre London, we can also arrange self-catering residential accommodation.

Will my homestay be British?
All Twin Group host-families use English as their first language. Families are not always British by origin, as you would expect in a culturally and ethnically diverse country such as England.
Will I have my meals prepared for me? What type of food?
Depending on the homestay option you have chosen, you may have breakfast, packed lunch and / or dinner. The type of food you are served will vary considerably from homestay to homestay.
How near to the school will my accommodation be?
The commuting distance from family to school varies. Some families are within walking distance and others are up to 30 minutes away by local transport (at Twin English Centre London, some accommodation may in rare occasions be up to 50 minutes away, but in the smaller towns of Eastbourne and Salisbury, commuting distances are shorter.)
What if I don't get on with my family?
If you do not get on with your homestay provider, you should immediately report your problem to your school’s Accommodation Officer who will speak to the family and try to sort out any difficulty.
Will my family give me a key to the house?
Many families will provide you with a front-door key, but on occasions, we may have families who cannot do this for insurance reasons.  In these cases, you should always arrange with the family the times that you intend to return home in the evening.
