The Foundation in Business prepares students for university and includes a stand-alone academic qualification, respected by both employers and universities. Successful completion of this programme results in an offer from one of Twin's partner Universities for progression to a business related undergraduate degree.

is exclusive Pathway programme is designed for students who have finished secondary school at home, but do not yet meet the requirements for direct entry to university. This course provides an opportunity for students to earn a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma, recognised by 95% of UK universities as meeting all or some of the entry requirements for business related undergraduate degrees, and completion will result in progression to a UK university. By the time you complete the Foundation in Business programme you will be completely prepared for life at a UK university – linguistically, academically and culturally.
We're in partnership with UK universities
Twin has partnerships with a number of universities with whom you can enrol into Year 1 of an undergraduate degree upon successful completion of the programme. Possible undergraduate degree courses include Accounting, Business Management, Human Resources, Tourism and Hospitality, Logistics, Marketing, Retail and many more.
Learners should always check the entry requirements for degree programmes with the specific universities.
Choosing your University
A Foundation in Business with Twin gives you the security of progression offers from Twin Partners. And because our course includes a Level 3 BTEC Diploma, the most common university qualification after A-levels, you can also apply directly to any university through the UCAS system.

What is Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business?
BTEC Level 3 National Diplomas are awarded by Pearson, the UK’s largest awarding organisation offering academic, vocational and work-related qualifications. They are recognized by UK universities and employers as meeting many, or all, of the requirements to do business-related undergraduate degrees. Many UK universities recognise the BTEC Level 3 National Diploma as a viable qualification that together with your high school certificate and English level can secure a place for you on a business related undergraduate degree. Higher ranked universities will have additional entry requirements and we will provide application counselling to help you find the right university for you.
Over 100,000 BTEC students apply to UK universities every year. Along with A-Levels, they are the most widely recognised qualification taken to access university. YouGov research shows that 62% of large companies have recruited employees with BTEC qualifications.
The BTEC National Diploma is also approved by professional bodies such as CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and the CMI (Chartered Management Institute) for acceptance onto their courses at the appropriate level.
Developing a Marketing Campaign
Learn how a marketing campaign is developed. Use market research data to see the different stages of the process that a business goes through when developing its campaign. You will also plan your own campaign.
Gain an overview of the key ingredients for business success, how businesses are organised, how they communicate, the characteristics of the environment in which they operate, and how this shapes them and their activities.
Personal and Business Finance
Develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand, analyse and prepare financial information. You will learn how to analyse profitability, liquidity and business efficiency, and gain an insight into where you can get financial advice and support.
Managing an Event
You will investigate a number of successful events in this unit, both large and small, and use this research to assess the feasibility of events to plan and stage an event yourself.
Explore the benefits and issues associated with international business. You will investigate the economic environment and cultural factors in international markets and the influence they have on how business is conducted.
Principles of Management
The effective planning and organising of a business’ activity can significantly influence the success of a business. Learn how to adapt management approaches in response to business challenges and change in environment.
English and study skills modules:
Academic English (EAP)
Learn about the conventions of academic English and practice reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that are appropriate for university.
Learn about approaches used in UK universities: reading skills and critical thinking, researching, presenting, participating in seminars and group work, and essay writing in exams.
The course includes 2 of the following modules that will be chosen by Twin at the start of the course:
Cost and Management Accounting
Study cost and management accounting and its involvement with financial planning, controlling, monitoring and evaluation of business costs & revenues.
Examine the different aspects of web-based marketing, and the channels that can be used to deliver a successful digital marketing campaign.
Training and Development
Study training and development and recognise that successful businesses need to plan and manage the training programmes they offer.
Examine the purpose and type of market research undertaken in a business, consider the objectives of the research and the processes followed.
